Description
Up to 25cm, red-orange to dark brown. Bite is extremely painful and can cause serious local reactions.
Habitat
Damp areas, under stones, inside shoes/bedding.
Where Found in Thailand
All of Thailand, often enters homes.
Symptoms
- Excruciating pain
- Severe swelling
- Lymph node swelling
- Fever
- Rare cardiac issues
First Aid — DO
- Hot water immersion (40–45°C) for pain
- Wash wound
- Pain relief
- Antihistamine if swelling
DO NOT
- DO NOT ignore — infections common
- DO NOT apply ice (worsens pain)
