Habitat
Reefs, rocky shorelines.
Where Found in Thailand
All Thai beaches with rocks/coral.
Symptoms
- Sharp pain
- Discoloration
- Swelling
- Infection risk
First Aid — DO
- Soak in hot water/vinegar
- Carefully remove visible spines
- Dissolve remaining spines with vinegar soaks
DO NOT
- DO NOT dig — fragments may dissolve naturally
- DO NOT walk barefoot on reefs
